I actually started this book last year, but I only recently finished it.
I have KindleUnlimited, and I love audiobooks for listening while I get ready for work and do other activities. I chose to listen to this one, since it was available as one of the options on KU.
As for the narrator, I enjoyed listening to him. I'm not sure what his actual accent is, but it was a bit thick (though possibly put-on a bit since the main character is supposed to be from South Carolina). His Spanish pronunciation wasn't exactly perfect, but it wasn't terrible. All in all, I enjoyed the experience of listening to the book.
As for the content, I really loved this book. Having experiences in nearly every location mentioned probably enhanced my enjoyment of the book more than it would for some, but I really enjoyed that the imagery of the book took me to actual places I've been, and even to moments I've experienced, in my life.
There's a lot of "family," here that's written in a pretty honest way. There's a little romance, too, that's written in an enjoyable way.
Overall, I really enjoyed the book!
