I'm fairly new to these books. I know they were super popular some time ago, but I only recently decided to take a chance on them while digging through the library database and trying to figure out which audiobooks I wanted to listen to while I get ready for work and do chores around the house.

I love mysteries, and these fall somewhere between what I would consider a cozy mystery and a more hard-boiled mystery. They're written in the first person, which is usually not something I enjoy, but the author does a good job of writing from that point of view, so it doesn't bother me.

I listen to these in audiobook form, and Mary Peiffer has narrated all of the books that I've listened to so far. She's the only voice that I associate with Kinsey Millhone, admittedly, but she's also the best voice that I could possibly imagine for the character. She's a little bit dry and, for my tastes, she delivers every line perfectly.

I've only gone through three of these so far, but I'm definitely looking into the rest!

I'm including the Amazon link for the book, but I do not profit from the sales of the book.
