Calamity Jane: How The West Began

I love Calamity Jane. I have read accounts of Calamity Jane for years. I've loved coming across her character/personality/representation in movies and books. I recently decided that I wanted to read a few more stories featuring the character/legend, and I picked out a few to add to my reading collection.

This was the first that I purchased to read. It promised to look at (in a fictionalized manner) the early years of Calamity Jane. These are the years before she became the legend that we all know and love.

I loved this book and the exploration of Calamity. Honestly, I would read more by this author if he wanted to continue to write the fictionalized accounts of Calamity Jane, her life, and her experiences. The writing in this book was well-done. The characters were well-written and rounded. I had no complaints at all about this book.
