This was a "Pumpkin Hollow Days" mystery from the Pumpkin Hollow series. It's summertime, but Pumpkin Hollow is celebrating their summer Halloween festival (think of a Christmas in July situation).
I didn't enjoy this one as much as I've enjoyed some, because I simply didn't find that I cared very much about the deceased or those involved in that person's life. Sometimes, I'm far more interested in how the solution will play out, but I wasn't that invested in this murdered character's story. I can't really say that had anything to do with the book. It could very well be nothing more than a matter of mood.
The book was well-written, and I liked the dialogue (one of my personal little issues with a lot of books). It was still everything you'd expect from one of these cozy mysteries, and I enjoyed it for the light Halloween-themed (Halloween festival themed?) fun.
