I sat on this one a few days before reviewing. That was, truthfully, an accident, but life got in the way.
I enjoyed this book, honestly. I was surprised by a few of the twists that took place, and I enjoy time with the "new" crew of the Enterprise (based on the new movie-verse or Kelvin timeline). For those reasons, I can definitely say that this book did not disappoint.
If I were going to say that it disappointed at all, it would be mostly owing to my own choices to read books in certain orders (which is usually random, in my case). I have read several, lately, that have dealt with almost the same "bad guy" situation. While I find the ghostly apparitions enjoyable and fascinating sometimes, I didn't really realize how many times this appears in Trek novels until, by chance, I ended up reading several in a row from various series.
That aside, I did enjoy this book, and I would recommend it to fans of this series. (However, it is important that they know that this is the "new" movie version of our characters, and not the TOS version of them, or they may be confused.)
I'm including the link for anyone who may be interested. I receive nothing from the sales of this book.
