I won this book in a giveaway, but that doesn't change my opinion.
I'm a huge fan of cozy mysteries, and this one doesn't disappoint. It's got everything you want. It has an amateur sleuth solving mysteries they should probably leave alone and everything that goes with that. The cast of characters is interesting, and the story line is just what you'd want from a cozy mystery.
I didn't read the other books in the series before this one. While that's clearly not necessary, it may save you some of the confusion that I had at the beginning. I wasn't sure where the story took place, etc. I had to figure that out as I went. If I'd started at the beginning, there might have been some clarification to those background doubts.
I also struggled, occasionally, with the dialogue. There were times when it flowed perfectly naturally, but there were other times when I got that feeling of "nobody talks like this" that sometimes pulls me out of stories.
All in all, this is a very cute little murder mystery of the cozy variety!
I'm including the link, in case you want to check out this book (or another in the series), but I receive nothing from the sales.
