I'm not a mom, but I did think that the principles that this book might teach would be applicable to anyone. I was not wrong, but I also wasn't entirely correct.
The ideas presented here could be adapted to anyone. That much is absolutely true.
The book is well-written (without any glaring grammatical issues, etc.) and it's written in a very easy-to-read, conversational style.
The reason that this book didn't work for me, personally, was that the style wasn't what I wanted. I was hoping for something of a guide on how to accomplish this mindfulness in one minute or less. What I felt that I mostly got was personal stories and anecdotes, from which I was then able to mine whatever I felt was useful.
Again, there was nothing wrong with the book, and I do think that many people would like the conversational style and, probably, the fact that they could relate to many of the stories, but it just wasn't what I was hoping to read.
