The book is nothing like the movie. The problem with that, of course, is that I actually enjoyed the movie more than the book.
The storyline in the book (though completely different than the movie) isn't necessarily bad, but it's pretty bland. I found the writing to be not at all to my tastes. It felt more like unfinished notes than a polished final draft of a novel. There seemed to be a stark lack of anything terribly interesting.
All in all, I can't say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I could see how others would like it, but it wasn't my cup of tea. I don't think that I really see myself pursuing other books in this series.
