I read the Ramona books when I was a child. My memory, however, is terrible, and I've forgotten most of what I read. I like reading children's books, and I especially enjoy doing so just before going to sleep.

(I do know that there are a lot of people, especially in online reading groups, that think that reading children's books don't "count" for some imaginary goal they've created, but I think they absolutely do "count" for me. I read and review them because those authors still depend on reviews to help boost their product sales, and I enjoy children's books for the easy relaxation that they provide.)

This one was really cute. Ramona has made it to the first grade, and it's a terribly hard year for little Ramona. She gets through it, though, because she's a brave little girl who has "spunk" (as her father says).

One of my favorite things about these books is that they remind us of what it feels like to be so young and small in the world. They bring back a little of that magic (and struggle) of childhood when everything was new. Another thing I like is that these books were written in the world before "technology took over" and, though I do love technology and everything that it brings to the table, sometimes I miss the world I grew up in where there weren't so many devices and there wasn't quite so much connectivity. These books give me a little opportunity to reminisce and be nostalgic about a time when we were all a little more tuned into our simple moment-by-moment lives.

I am including the link to the book. However, as always, I receive nothing from the sales of the book.
