I had this book on my "To Read" list for a while.

I like books about witches and magic, so that already-established interest was one thing that drew me to this book. The second thing is that the cover is absolutely beautiful, and the title is intriguing.

I wish I could really say the same about the book.

The premise of this book is interesting. The prose is beautiful. Really, the author did a great job of putting words together in such a way that, at times, it really was poetic.

The biggest problem that I had, honestly, was that all the pretty words in the world didn't make up for the fact that this book, for me, was slow and boring. I felt like I'd DNFed too many books lately, so I tried to skip and hop my way through the book to get to the end, but the fact of the matter was that I couldn't get into this book. I couldn't really feel like I cared about the characters, and I really felt like there wasn't much that happened for the whole of the book. This might be the greatest book to someone, but that someone definitely isn't me.

I'm including the link in case you want to check it out. I won't be reading the rest of the series. Also, I receive nothing from the sales of this book.
