This book was one of what feels like quite a few DNFs this year. I wanted to read this book for a while, based solely on the title. I learned that the title, alone, is not enough to make me finish an entire book.
The book is written in epistolary form, and it's based on a teenager's life. I would not have thought that these two things would make me not enjoy the book, but they do put me off of it.
I simply found that I couldn't connect to the main character. I couldn't get involved in the story, and I didn't like the style of the letters. Without being able to connect and care about the story, and without being to really enjoy the format of the book, there was really nothing here for me. I put it down to move on with my life.
I think I might have enjoyed the book more when I was a teenager, but it just didn't work for me now.
I'm including the link, however, in case anyone should want to give it a try. I earn nothing from the sales of this book.
