I like to read the reviews for books, but I usually wait until after I've read them (or, in the case of a book I'm thinking of DNFing, at the point that I decide I'm probably about to DNF). I don't like to be too influenced by what others think, since we're all different, and we're all going to see things differently, but I do like to compare my thoughts to those of others.
I am two books away from finishing the alphabet series.
This book seemed to drag a bit more than the others. There were places where I thought that I couldn't wait for it to finish, and there were spots where I wondered if it would ever arrive at some kind of point.
From what I have read in other people's reviews, I am not alone in feeling this way. There are many readers who love Kinsey, and we love the series, but it seems that we all reach a point (somewhere around here) that we feel like things are being a bit dragged out.
My biggest question to myself (and, maybe, to others) is if we feel this way because of how long we've been reading these books, or if we really feel this way because of the content? Is it burnout? I'm not sure. I do know that I intend to finish the series. I already have "X" on the shelf and waiting. I'm going to take a little break, though, and read a few other things before I dive into X, just in case I'm feeling this way because of burnout and not because W did drag a little.
Don't get me wrong, the book was good, and I do highly recommend this series, but there was a lot of unnecessary information in this one, and it did seem to run very slowly in places.
